Intro Cutscene

A crudly drawn vignette is applied to the screen.

Shows the scene of the dark hallway.

Researcher (wondering2) Glad we have those lights to light our way.

Researcher (wondering1) The House's residual energy, perhaps...? It WAS a House of Change, after all...


Glitch effect, moves to the first tears room.

Housemaiden (wondering1) Well, there must be a way to make this water disappear somehow... Let's look around a bit more.


Glitch effect, moves to the Housemaiden's room.

Fighter (sad3) What is she like, this roommate of yours?


Glitch effect, moves to the big room.

Fighter (angry1) That sound, that's--


Glitch effect, moves to the hair door.

Kid (annoyed1) The King--


Glitch effect, moves to the king room.

Glitch effect, shows a close-up of the King. The vignette is removed.

Glitch effect, shows a blood splatter.

Glitch effect, shows a bloody Siffrin in front of their allies.

Housemaiden (smile3) I don't think we're very far from the top!  We can--


(As always, you don't even get a second to catch your breath.)

(At least you have your smile on!  That's a plus.)

(Ah.  Yep, you remember.)

The last floor.)

Housemaiden (hmm1) ...

Housemaiden (worried1) ...Are you worried?
About fighting the King...?


Isabeau hops.


Fighter (wondering1) Sif, worried?  I've never seen him get worried about anything!

Siffrin (fake1) (Something like...)

    Housemaiden (smile4) That's true!  Siffrin was very worried when you almost ran into a trap a few floors ago--


    Screen shakes, Isabeau jumps.


    Fighter (embarassed4) W-WE DON'T HAVE TO MENTION IT AGAIN!!!

  • "No point in worrying!""

    Housemaiden (wondering1) Hm...

    Housemaiden (smile1) You're right!  There's no point in worrying right now...

    Housemaiden (smile2) All we can do is move forward!


Both the Kid and Researcher spin in a circle.

Kid (annoyed1) Are you guys done talking?  Can we FINALLY go now?

Researcher (wondering1) We've been climbing up the castle for a while...

Researcher (worried3) The King shouldn't be much farther.

Fighter (confident1) And victory has to be just around the corner!!!

Fighter (happy1) Let's go and let's stay focused, everyone!!!

Housemaiden (smile1) Yes!!!


(You smile at them.)

("We've come this far with no trouble, so getting through this last floor and beating the King will surely be a piece of cake!")
