    (You used the STAR CREST.)

The screen tints white for a second.

(You throw the crest into the tears, then watch them all melt away...)

If you found the star crest before walking up to the wall of tears

Researcher (wondering2) Oh, that thing you found...?

Kid (excited1) The thing you found made the weird water go away!!!

Researcher (wondering1) Probably a good thing...  I don't want to know what would've happened if we touched those.

You get one weird point for this.

  • No

Siffrin moves away from the tears.

Second star crest

Full Page: Tears Room 2.

If you haven't approached this wall already

Housemaiden (awkward1) More tears?

Fighter (wondering2) Which means...  A Star Crest to find?

Fighter (happy1) Hey, good thing we just found one earlier!

(Use the crest to clear the way?)

  • Yes

    (You used the STAR CREST.)

The screen tints white for a second.

If you didn't approach this wall already

Researcher (worried3) Two rows of those tears means two different crests.

Researcher (wondering1) Don't go walking through that second row over there without finding a second crest.

  • No

Siffrin moves away from the tears.

Third star crest

Full Page: Tears Room 2.

(Use the crest to clear the way?)

  • Yes

(You look at the hole in the wall.)

Housemaiden (smile3) What are you looking at, Siffrin...?

Housemaiden (awkward2) Oh!  There's...  There's something inside the hole!

(You got the STAR CREST.)

First two times

Kid (surprised1) Will it make the water disappear...?

Researcher (wondering2) Hm...  It has the King's crest on it.

Housemaiden (awkward1) I somehow feel colder just looking at it...

Researcher (question1) Maybe using it would neutralize the frozen water for a bit...

Fighter (happy1) Nothing to lose by trying it!

Third time onwards

The screen fades to black.

(You stand and listen to everyone speak for the required amount of time.)

The screen fades back in.

Fighter (happy1) ...Nothing to lose by trying it!

After obtaining an ending

(You stick your hand in the hole and get the STAR CREST.)

Kid (surprised1) Oh, what d'you get?

Second star crest

Full Page: Key Room.

Before getting an ending

(The Star Crest for the first row of tears is here.)

If you haven't seen the first row of tears

(Take it?)

  • Yes

    (You got another STAR CREST.)

  • No

(You left the Star Crest alone.)

After getting an ending

(You quickly snatch up the STAR CREST.)

Fighter (embarassed2) Wow Sif, what did that thing ever do to you?

    (You got the STAR CREST.)

  • No

(You left the Star Crest alone.)

Second loop onwards

(You got the STAR CREST.)

(Find it?)

The text goes one of four ways depending on if you found previous keys before interacting with other objects, and whether or not you've interacted with the bottom door in the big room

If you did not rush keys and interacted with the door

Kid (surprised1) Woah, there's a key in the book!!!

Researcher (wondering1) Let's go open that door, then.

If you did not rush keys and did not interact with the door

Kid (surprised1) Woah, there's a key in the book!!!

Housemaiden (awkward1) Hm... What is this key for?

You get one weird point for this.

If you did rush keys and did interact with the door

Fighter (happy1) Woah Sif, you're on a roll today!!!

Kid (excited1) That was so cool!!!  You went right to the book like BAM!!!

Housemaiden (smile4) Oh, we truly are blessed today!!!  The House itself must be helping us along!!!

    Researcher (worried3) Yes, that's... nice.

You get 5 weird points for this.

If you did rush keys and did not interact with the door

Kid (surprised1) Is that a key?

Fighter (happy1) Wow Sif, you're finding all kinds of weird stuff today!

You get 5 weird points for this.

    (You leave the book alone.)

Housemaiden (smile1) Mhm!!!

If you did find the key first

Kid (excited1) WOAH!

Fighter (surprised2) Wait,  so the key Sif found was the key for this door?

Fighter (happy1) That's a CRAZY coincidence, friend!!!

(...)

  • "I feel lucky today!"

    Housemaiden (worried3) Hmmmm...

    Fighter (confident1) Alright!  Onwards, then!!!

  • "A crazy... KEY-cidence?"

    The screen shakes.

    Fighter (happy1) HAHAHAHA!

Researcher (smug1) Go workshop more, Siffrin.  This one is pretty weak.

(You pout, and don't even have to act for this one.)

(You still don't like this pun, but even now, that's all the material you have...)

    (Someone pats your head.)

Fighter (proud1) Pat, pat.  You'll do better next time!

    (You won't.)

A key with a fragile feather as a keychain.

(Got the BURNING TORCH.)

Housemaiden (determined1) Hm?  Are you having trouble seeing ahead, Siffrin?

Housemaiden (worried1) ... I can take the lead, if you'd like...

If you haven't seen the king's hair

You get one weird point for this.

If you have

Researcher (wondering2) Ah...  Are you perhaps thinking of using this to destroy the weird thread?

Researcher (wondering1) Nothing to lose by trying it out...

Usage

Full Page: Hair Room.

Everyone moves to look up at the hair.

(The wall of hair is here.)

(You use the torch on the hair.)

The hair is burned away.

The screen shakes.

Housemaiden (THEFUCK1) W-wah!!!

If you have less than 10 weird points

Kid (excited1) Woah!!!  The fire burned the weird thread!!!

If you interacted with the hair door before having the torch

Researcher (wondering2) Glad you found that torch, Siffrin...

Researcher (question1) Let's keep going, shall we?

If not (you get one weird point for this)

Researcher (wondering2) Lucky we found that torch earlier, I suppose. Nice going, Siffrin.  Let’s keep going, shall we?

Otherwise

Fighter (annoyed1) Fire...?  But how did you...

If you interacted with the hair door before obtaining the torch

Researcher (wondering1) ...   Glad you found that torch, Siffrin...
